Description

Monosyn® is an advanced absorbable monofilament suture developed by B. Braun, designed for a wide range of surgical applications. This sterile, synthetic suture is ideal for soft tissue approximation and ligation in fields such as general surgery, gynecology, oral surgery, urology, gastrointestinal procedures, obstetrics, pediatrics, and veterinary medicine.

Material Composition

• Copolymer Composition: 72% glycolide, 14% ε-caprolactone, 14% trimethylenecarbonate (glyconate).
• Color Options: Available in dyed violet and undyed beige.

Absorption Profile

Monosyn® is absorbed through hydrolysis, with the following tensile strength retention:

• 7 Days: Approximately 70%
• 14 Days: Approximately 50%
• 21 Days: Approximately 20%

Complete absorption occurs between 60 to 90 days, making it suitable for applications requiring mid-term tear resistance.

Not intended for use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic, or neurological tissues.
