Contraindications
Not suitable for individuals with:
- Peripheral arterial disease
- Severe arteriosclerosis
- Severe peripheral neuropathy
- Acute stroke
- Significant leg or pulmonary edema
- Certain local leg conditions
Usage Instructions
- Wearing Schedule: Should be worn day and night until normal activity resumes or as directed by a healthcare professional.
- Daily Removal: Essential for hygiene and skin inspection.
- Monitoring: Regular checks for skin integrity, especially over heels and bony prominences.
- Discontinuation: Recommended if any skin issues, pain, or discomfort arise.
Care and Maintenance
- Washing: Hand or machine wash at temperatures up to 95°C.
- Drying: Air or tumble dry at up to 70°C.
- Avoid: Ironing and dry cleaning.
- Replacement: Necessary if stockings lose elasticity or become damaged.
Typically, patients receive two pairs to allow for alternating use, ensuring consistent support and hygiene. Proper application and monitoring by trained staff, along with patient education, are crucial for effective use.
