Description
Welch Allyn's EcoCuff FlexiPort is a disposable blood pressure cuff specifically designed for children, offering a hygienic solution for healthcare settings. This single-patient-use cuff is intended for use on the upper arm, significantly reducing cross-contamination risks and hospital waste.
Key Features
-
FlexiPort Technology: The innovative FlexiPort technology provides a 360° rotatable connection port, simplifying connectivity with most blood pressure devices. This feature reduces the need for multiple tubes and connectors, enhancing workflow efficiency and patient safety.
-
Child Size: The cuff fits arm circumferences of 15–21 cm and is color-coded for easy identification, ensuring proper sizing and minimizing the risk of mis-cuffing.
-
Material Composition: Made from 100% polypropylene, the cuff is free from natural rubber latex, BPA, DEHP, and PVC. It is recyclable where facilities exist, and its lightweight design uses up to 60% less material than traditional disposable cuffs.
Comfort and Usability
Available in soft or vinyl fabric options, the EcoCuff FlexiPort is designed for comfort. The port and tubing are positioned near the top of the bicep for easier access, while the slot-fitting system ensures proper application. The cuffs are rolled for convenient storage and unrolled for use.
Durability and Compatibility
The cuff is durable, rated for over 150–250 cycles of inflation and on/off arm placements. It is compatible with virtually all blood pressure devices and patient monitors, including those not manufactured by Welch Allyn.
Environmental Impact
This product is designed to have over 50% less environmental impact compared to other FlexiPort disposable cuffs. It aligns with the latest clinical guidelines for proper fit from AAMI, AHA, ISO, and ANSI, ensuring safety and reliability.
Intended Use
The EcoCuff FlexiPort is classified as a Class 1 medical device under EU MDR 2017/745. It is not intended for neonatal or infant use but is ideal for noninvasive blood pressure measurement in children within healthcare environments.
Application Guidelines
To use, apply the cuff to the upper arm with the artery label over the brachial artery. Regular inspection for damage or wear is recommended. The cuff should be used with compatible devices, avoiding environments with potential electromagnetic interference.
