The Soluscope Filter is an essential component for ensuring the effective reprocessing of endoscopes in medical environments. Designed specifically for use with Soluscope Automated Endoscope Reprocessors (AER), this water filtration cartridge system plays a crucial role in maintaining the sterility of water used in medical device reprocessing.

Filtration System

The system typically comprises a 3-stage, 20-inch pre-filtration assembly that efficiently removes particulates and bacteria from the water supply. This design not only ensures the provision of sterile water but also extends the life of the final sterile filter. The configuration of the system can be adjusted based on local water quality, providing flexibility and reliability in various settings.

First Stage Filter

• Type: Polyspun (spun-bonded) cartridge
• Filtration Rating: 0.5 micron (nominal)
• Purpose: Removes coarse particulates and protects subsequent filters

Constructed with true graded density manufacturing, this filter offers increased dirt holding capacity and extended cartridge life. It is compatible as an alternative to Pall Filtration NXT0.5-20U and Gallay SF10 filter cartridges.

Second Stage Filter

• Type: Pleated Polypropylene cartridge
• Filtration Rating: 0.2 micron (nominal)
• Purpose: Provides near-absolute particulate removal

This stage protects the final filter and is recommended as an alternative to Pall Filtration PFT0220UN44 and Gallay SF07 filter cartridges.

Third Stage Filter

• Type: Polyethersulfone cartridge
• Filtration Rating: 0.2 micron (absolute)
• Purpose: Retains all waterborne bacteria

This stage ensures the delivery of sterile water, crucial for endoscope reprocessing. It features a 222 sanitary double o-ring connection to prevent bypass, with an optional 0.1 micron absolute-rated cartridge available.

Installation and Maintenance

The system can be wall-mounted or attached to a Soluscope trolley, offering convenient installation options. During extended periods of non-use, it is recommended to remove the filters and clean the housings. New filters should be fitted after such shutdowns to maintain optimal performance.
