Nutricia PreOp Carbohydrate Drink is a ready-to-drink, clear, non‑carbonated lemon-flavoured Food for Special Medical Purposes for the pre‑operative dietary management of adults undergoing elective surgery. Suitable for Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols. For enteral use only and must be used under medical supervision.

Intended use and timing

• For pre‑operative carbohydrate loading in elective surgical patients
• May be taken up to 2 hours prior to anaesthesia
• Aims to improve pre‑operative comfort (reduced thirst, hunger, weakness) and help attenuate post‑operative insulin resistance
