Description
The Avanos MICROCUFF Adult Endotracheal Tube is a cuffed Magill‑style ETT designed for oral or nasal intubation in adult patients. It supports establishment and maintenance of ventilation in operating rooms, intensive care units, and emergency settings, and is suitable for prolonged ventilation when clinically indicated. The MICROCUFF polyurethane cuff, approximately 13 microns thick, is engineered to achieve a high tracheal seal at low cuff pressures to help limit peritubal leakage and microaspiration while helping protect the tracheal mucosa.
Design and performance
- Magill curve for predictable insertion pathway; Murphy eye to help maintain airflow if the distal tip is partially obstructed.
- MICROCUFF technology: microthin, strong polyurethane cuff designed for high sealing performance at low pressures.
- Radiopaque line for X‑ray visibility to assist with post‑intubation position confirmation.
Placement aids
- Depth/measurement markings along the tube for intra‑procedure reference.
- Black vocal cord placement marker near the cuff and four positioning bands to support correct placement.
