Intended Use
- Low-profile, button-style enteral device designed to deliver nutrition directly to the jejunum.
- For patients requiring jejunal feeding only, including those who cannot tolerate gastric feeding, have impaired gastric emptying, or are at high risk of aspiration.
- Prescription use only (Rx).
Design and Materials
- Skin-level, low-profile external bolster provides a discreet profile and helps support stoma stability.
- Medical-grade silicone construction for flexibility and patient comfort.
- Inflatable internal silicone retention balloon for secure placement.
- Single access port labeled “Jejunal” with a one-way valve; no separate medication port on the button.
- Tapered, recessed, trimmable distal tip to tailor length to patient anatomy, as clinically appropriate.
- Radiopaque stripe to aid imaging visibility; external length markings where provided to assist verification.
Connectivity and Compatibility
- Detachable extension sets with SECUR-LOK “lock-and-key” connection between the button and extension set to help reduce accidental disconnections.
- ENFit-compatible when used with MIC-KEY ENFit extension sets (available for continuous or bolus feeding configurations).
Sizes and Configurations
- French sizes (outer diameter): 14 Fr and 18 Fr.
- Jejunal length: 82 cm (all variants).
- Stoma length options (cm): 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.5, 1.7, 2.0, 2.3, 2.5, 2.7, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5.
Sterility
- Sterile; gamma irradiated.
Placement and Replacement
- May be placed percutaneously under fluoroscopic or endoscopic guidance, surgically, or used as a replacement through an established stoma.
- Compatible with a variety of MIC-KEY ENFit extension sets for continuous or bolus feeding workflows.
- Follow the manufacturer’s Instructions for Use for device selection, placement technique, maintenance, and balloon management.
Important Notes
- This information pertains to the MIC-KEY Low-Profile Jejunal (J) Feeding Tube only.
- Features specific to gastric-jejunal (GJ) tubes—such as a separate gastric decompression port or non-ENFit connectors—are not applicable and are excluded.
