Description

A low-profile enteral access device, the Avanos MIC-KEY Low-Profile Jejunal (J) Feeding Tube Kit provides direct delivery of nutrition, fluids, and medications to the small intestine (distal duodenum/proximal jejunum). It is intended for patients who cannot tolerate gastric feeding or who have impaired gastric emptying, severe GERD, elevated aspiration risk, gastric outlet obstruction, or have undergone esophagectomy/gastrectomy (Rx only).

• Low-profile, button-style design to minimize external profile; detachable extension sets allow the button to be concealed when not in use.
• Single access port labeled “Jejunal”; no separate medication port.
• Internal water-filled retention balloon with external retention bolster/disc for secure placement.
• Proximal anti-reflux valve.
• Trimmable, tapered distal tip to aid placement and patient comfort per IFU.
• Radiopaque stripe for visualization under imaging and centimeter markings for external length verification.

Connections

• ENFit-compatible interfaces via the included extension set(s) (ISO 80369-3) for feeding sets and syringes.
• SECUR-LOK mechanism between the button and extension set to help maintain a secure attachment during use.

• Outer diameter: 14 Fr or 18 Fr.
• Jejunal length: 82 cm.
• Available stoma lengths (cm): 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.5, 1.7, 2.0, 2.3, 2.5, 2.7, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5.

Sterility and Packaging

• Sterile; gamma-irradiated.

Placement and Replacement

• May be placed percutaneously under fluoroscopic or endoscopic guidance, surgically, or used as a replacement through an established stoma tract. Selection of French size and stoma length should follow clinical assessment and the manufacturer’s instructions for use (IFU).

Balloon Use Guidance

• Inflate the internal retention balloon with sterile or distilled water only, following the IFU for recommended fill volumes.

Important Notes

• This model is the jejunal-only MIC-KEY Low-Profile tube with a single J port. Features specific to GJ tubes—such as a separate gastric port, gastric decompression capability, multiple jejunal exit ports, or a weighted jejunal limb—do not apply to this product.
