Description

Avanos Medical’s MIC-KEY Low-Profile Jejunal (J) Feeding Tube is a button-style enteral access device designed for jejunal feeding only. The low-profile external bolster sits close to the skin for discretion and comfort, while an internal retention balloon helps maintain placement. The device delivers enteral nutrition and medications into the distal duodenum or proximal jejunum and is intended for single use by prescription.

Intended use and patient selection

• For patients who cannot tolerate gastric feeding or who have impaired gastric emptying, intestinal motility disorders, gastric outlet obstruction, severe gastroesophageal reflux, aspiration risk, or status post esophagectomy/gastrectomy.
• Provides jejunal access for continuous or bolus delivery via compatible extension sets.

Placement and replacement

• May be placed endoscopically, radiologically under fluoroscopy, or surgically; also appropriate as a replacement through an established stoma tract.
• Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use for placement technique and balloon management.

• Medical-grade silicone; sterile, gamma irradiated.
