Description
The Avanos MIC-KEY Low-Profile Jejunal (J) Feeding Tube is a button-style, enteral access device designed for patients who require jejunal feeding only. Constructed from medical-grade silicone, it provides a discreet external profile with an external bolster similar to the MIC-KEY gastrostomy tube. The device features a single jejunal access port and a balloon-based internal retention mechanism. It is available in ENFit or legacy non-ENFit connector options and interfaces with compatible MIC-KEY extension sets for continuous or bolus feeding.
Intended Use/Indications
- Patients unable to absorb adequate nutrition via the stomach
- Intestinal motility disorders or impaired gastric emptying
- Gastric outlet obstruction or severe gastroesophageal reflux
- Patients at risk of aspiration
- Post-esophagectomy or gastrectomy
Placement and Replacement
- Percutaneous placement under fluoroscopic or endoscopic guidance, or surgical placement
- Suitable as a replacement device via an established stoma tract
