Description
The Avanos MIC-KEY Low-Profile Gastric-Jejunal (GJ) Feeding Tube Kit is a skin-level enteral access device placed through a gastric stoma with the distal limb positioned in the jejunum. It supports simultaneous jejunal (post-pyloric) feeding and gastric decompression or venting for pediatric and adult patients. The low-profile button design helps minimize external profile while maintaining two-lumen access for ongoing nutritional support and gastric management.
Design and ports
- Low-profile button with external bolster and internal inflatable balloon for retention
- Three external access points:
- JEJUNAL: feeding
- GASTRIC: decompression/venting
- BAL: balloon inflation/deflation
- One-way valves in the jejunal and gastric ports that open when a MIC-KEY ENFit extension set is attached
- No dedicated medication port; medications may be administered via the jejunal or gastric port per clinical direction
Connectivity and included components
- ENFit connectivity (feed set connector type: ENFit)
- Kit includes MIC-KEY ENFit extension sets with options for continuous and bolus feeding
Key features
- Weighted jejunal portion to help maintain jejunal placement
- Multiple distal jejunal exit ports for distributed delivery
- Radiopaque stripe for fluoroscopic or radiographic visibility
- Tapered distal tip to aid placement
- Clearly marked gastric and jejunal ports for identification
Materials, sterility, and use
- Medical-grade silicone; latex-free
- Sterile (gamma sterilized)
- Single-use
- Prescription device (Rx only)
Sizes and options
- French sizes: 14 Fr, 16 Fr, 18 Fr, 22 Fr
- Jejunal lengths (size-dependent): 15 cm, 22 cm, 30 cm, 45 cm
- Stoma length options: approximately 1.0 cm to 7.0 cm (availability varies by tube diameter)
Intended use
- For patients requiring post-pyloric feeding with concurrent gastric access for decompression or venting
- Suitable for pediatric and adult populations, with selection based on clinical assessment and patient anatomy
