Description
The Avanos MIC-KEY Low-Profile Gastric-Jejunal (GJ) Feeding Tube, ENFit kit variant, is a skin-level “button” enteral access device placed through a gastric stoma with the distal limb positioned in the jejunum. It supports simultaneous jejunal feeding and gastric decompression/venting for pediatric and adult patients. The low-profile external bolster presents three clearly labeled ports and maintains a discreet profile at the skin.
Key Features
- Port configuration and operation: JEJUNAL (feeding) and GASTRIC (decompression/venting) ports include one-way valves that open when a MIC-KEY Extension Set is attached. The BAL port inflates or deflates the internal retention balloon. There is no dedicated medication port; medications are delivered via the jejunal or gastric port per clinical direction.
- Retention and distal design: Internal inflatable balloon with a low-profile external bolster for skin-level retention. The jejunal segment is tungsten-weighted to help maintain jejunal positioning, with multiple distal exit ports for distribution and a tapered tip to aid passage. A radiopaque stripe enables visualization under imaging.
- Materials and regulatory: Medical-grade silicone construction; latex-free; sterile (gamma sterilized); single-use; prescription device (Rx only).
Connectors and Accessories
- ENFit connectors on kit components. MIC-KEY Extension Sets are included for port access, with options suited to continuous or bolus feeding. The MIC-KEY GJ product line is also available in catheter-tip connector variants; this kit is the ENFit configuration.
