Description
Overview
The Avanos MIC-KEY Low-Profile Gastric-Jejunal (GJ) Feeding Tube Kit (ENFit) is a skin-level, button-style enteral access device placed through a gastric stoma with the distal limb positioned in the jejunum. It supports pediatric and adult patients who require post-pyloric feeding while maintaining access to the stomach.
Intended use
Enables simultaneous jejunal (post-pyloric) feeding and gastric decompression/venting via separate lumens.
Design and ports
- Low-profile external bolster with an internal inflatable retention balloon.
- Three access points, clearly labeled:
- JEJUNAL (J) for feeding
- GASTRIC (G) for decompression/venting
- BAL for balloon inflation/deflation
- One-way valves in the J and G ports remain closed until a MIC-KEY ENFit extension set is attached. There is no dedicated medication port; medications are administered via the J or G port per clinical direction.
Connectivity and kit
- ENFit connector standard for enteral safety.
- Uses MIC-KEY ENFit extension sets; kit includes extension sets for continuous and bolus feeding.
Key features
- Weighted jejunal portion to help maintain post-pyloric placement.
- Multiple jejunal exit ports to support distal delivery.
- Radiopaque stripe to aid imaging confirmation.
- Tapered distal tip to facilitate advancement.
- Clearly marked G and J ports for quick identification.
Materials and sterility
- Medical-grade silicone construction; latex-free.
- Sterile; gamma sterilized.
- Single-use; prescription device (Rx only).
Sizes and options
- French sizes: 14, 16, 18, 22 Fr.
- Jejunal lengths: 15, 22, 30, 45 cm.
- Stoma lengths: approximately 1.0–7.0 cm (availability varies by tube diameter).
Clinical considerations
- Placement and use per institutional protocol and clinician judgment.
- Confirm position per imaging and facility practice prior to feeding.
- Use the gastric lumen for decompression/venting as ordered; deliver feeds through the jejunal lumen.
