Description

The Avanos MIC-KEY Low-Profile Gastric-Jejunal (GJ) Feeding Tube Kit (ENFit) is a skin-level, low-profile “button” device placed through a gastric stoma with the distal limb positioned in the jejunum. It supports post-pyloric feeding via the jejunal lumen while allowing gastric decompression/venting through a separate gastric lumen, for pediatric and adult patients as directed by a clinician.

Design and ports

• Internal silicone inflatable retention balloon with a low-profile external base/bolster (do not rotate the bolster). The base should rest approximately 1–2 mm above the skin.
• Three labeled access points: JEJUNAL (feeding), GASTRIC (decompression/venting or medications per clinician), BAL (balloon inflation/deflation).
• One-way, anti-reflux valves in JEJUNAL and GASTRIC ports open only when a MIC-KEY locking extension set is attached; do not introduce formula or medication directly into the port valves.

Connectivity and kit contents

Sizes and options

• French sizes: 14, 16, 18, 22 Fr.
• Jejunal lengths: 15, 22, 30, 45 cm (measured from distal aspect of the balloon to the catheter tip; availability varies by diameter/configuration).
• Stoma length options: approximately 1.0–7.0 cm (availability varies by French size). Clinician measures/chooses the appropriate stoma length.

Materials and sterility

• Medical-grade silicone; not made with natural rubber latex.
• Not formulated with DEHP/DBP/BBP (phthalates) per product information.
• Sterile (gamma sterilized); single-use; prescription device (Rx only). Do not reuse, reprocess, or resterilize.

Balloon inflation guidance

• Inflate with sterile or distilled water only. Use water-soluble lubricant on the external tube if needed.
• Recommended fill volumes (refer to IFU for the exact configuration):
• J-length 15/22/30 cm: 3 mL (maximum 5 mL)
• J-length 45 cm: 7 mL (maximum 10 mL)
• Do not overinflate; verify balloon volume per IFU.

Handling and care highlights

• Flush the tube and extension sets before and after each use; keep port valves clean.
• Clean the external tube with warm water and mild soap; clean the stoma site daily per clinical guidance.
• Do not rotate jejunal or GJ tubes.
• Gastric port may be used for decompression/venting; avoid continuous or high intermittent suction.
• Medications: prefer liquid forms; confirm tablet crushability; never crush enteric-coated meds; flush before, between, and after medications; do not mix meds with formula. No dedicated medication port.

Indications (examples)

For patients who require jejunal feeding with simultaneous gastric decompression, such as those with poor gastric emptying, aspiration risk, severe reflux, gastric outlet obstruction, or following upper GI surgery, as directed by a clinician.
