Description
The Avanos MIC-KEY Low-Profile Gastric-Jejunal (GJ) Feeding Tube is a skin-level, button-style device that combines jejunal feeding and gastric decompression in a single unit. It is intended for pediatric and adult patients when simultaneous small-bowel nutrition and gastric venting or drainage are required.
Design and ports
- Retained by an internal inflatable silicone balloon with a low-profile external bolster.
- External head with three labeled ports:
- JEJUNAL (J): delivers feeds into the small intestine.
- GASTRIC (G): for gastric decompression/venting via gravity drainage or low intermittent suction.
- BAL: for balloon inflation/deflation.
- One-way valves in the J and G ports open only when a MIC-KEY extension set is attached.
