The Avanos MIC-KEY Low-Profile Gastric-Jejunal (GJ) Feeding Tube is a skin-level “button” enteral device placed through a gastric stoma with the distal limb positioned in the jejunum. It is retained by an internal inflatable balloon and an external low-profile bolster to support post-pyloric feeding while allowing simultaneous gastric decompression or venting, as directed by the care team.
Intended Use and Patient Population
For pediatric and adult patients who require jejunal feeding with the option to decompress or vent the stomach. Use, settings, and care should follow clinical direction.
Ports and Functions
- JEJUNAL (J) port: feeding into the small intestine.
- GASTRIC (G) port: decompression/venting via low intermittent suction or gravity, per clinical direction.
- BAL port: balloon inflation/deflation.
- One-way valves in J and G ports open when a compatible MIC-KEY extension set is attached.
- No dedicated medication port; medications may be administered via J or G per clinical direction.
Connectivity and Included Accessories
- Connector interface: ENFit (feed set connector type: ENFit).
- Kit variant includes MIC-KEY ENFit extension sets for continuous and bolus feeding.
- The MIC-KEY GJ family is also available in non-ENFit (Catheter Tip) variants; this kit is the ENFit version.
