Description

The Avanos MIC-KEY Low-Profile Balloon Gastrostomy (G) Button is a skin-level feeding tube designed to provide long-term enteral access to the stomach. Its low-profile button helps minimize snagging and interference with clothing, while a recessed distal tip and radiopaque stripe support patient comfort and visualization. This ENFit configuration includes an anti-reflux feeding port and is used with MIC-KEY ENFit extension sets for medication and nutrition delivery.

Intended Use/Indications

• For patients requiring long-term enteral feeding who cannot tolerate oral intake.
• Suitable for those at low risk for aspiration.
• For gastric decompression or direct medication delivery into the stomach.

Placement

• May be placed percutaneously under fluoroscopic, laparoscopic, or endoscopic guidance.
• May be used as a replacement device via an established stoma tract.

Configuration and Compatibility

• ENFit configuration: feed-side connections are ENFit and intended for use with MIC-KEY extension sets only.
• Feeding port includes an anti-reflux valve with an attached cap; the valve is operated by the MIC-KEY extension set’s patient-end connector.
• Extension sets feature a SECUR-LOK right-angle patient-end connector with a safety ring to help reduce leaks and prevent misconnections.
• MIC-KEY ENFit extension sets are compatible with MIC-KEY low-profile Gastrostomy, Jejunal, and Gastric-Jejunal feeding tubes and are required to administer feeds/medications via the MIC-KEY feeding port.

Materials and Construction

• High-clarity, medical-grade silicone; natural rubber latex-free.
• Recessed distal tip; radiopaque stripe for visualization.
• Low-profile button design to reduce snagging and clothing interference.

Retention Balloon and Inflation Parameters

• Internal inflatable retention balloon.
• Balloon inflation fluid: sterile/distilled water only.
• Recommended fill volumes: 12 Fr = 3 mL (maximum 5 mL); 14–24 Fr = 5 mL (maximum 10 mL).

• French sizes: 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 24 Fr.
• Stoma lengths (cm): 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.5, 1.7, 2.0, 2.3, 2.5, 2.7, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0 (availability varies by French size).
• 24 Fr sizes are typically available from 1.5–5.0 cm.

Sterility and Reuse

• G-tube: supplied sterile; single-use.
• ENFit extension sets: non-sterile; reusable for a single patient.

ENFit Extension Sets (Features)

• SECUR-LOK right-angle patient-end connector with safety ring.

• 2-port Y-connector with a dedicated medication port.
