Description

Avanos MIC-KEY Low-Profile Balloon Gastrostomy (G) Feeding Tube is a skin-level, balloon-retained device designed to provide long-term enteral access for pediatric and adult patients. Its discreet, low-profile “button” helps enhance comfort and mobility while supporting gastric feeding, decompression, and direct medication delivery.

Intended use

• For patients requiring long-term enteral nutrition who cannot tolerate oral feeding and are at low risk for aspiration
• Supports gastric decompression
• Allows direct medication delivery into the stomach
• Suitable for pediatric and adult populations

Key design features

• Low-profile button for discretion and patient comfort
• Internal inflatable silicone retention balloon
• Feeding port with anti-reflux valve that remains closed without an extension set and opens when properly connected
• Radiopaque stripe to aid visualization

Connectors and compatibility (ENFit)

• Uses MIC-KEY extension sets with ENFit (ISO 80369-3) feeding-side connectors
• SECUR-LOK right-angle patient-end connector mates to the MIC-KEY port to help prevent leaks/disconnects and to open the valve
• Continuous/pump and bolus extension sets available; Y-style extension includes a dedicated medication port
• Extension sets are non-sterile, reusable for single-patient use; natural rubber latex-free and DEHP-free
• Use only MIC-KEY extension sets with the MIC-KEY feeding tube

Placement and replacement

• Percutaneous placement under fluoroscopic, laparoscopic, or endoscopic guidance
• May be used as a replacement device via an established stoma tract

• French sizes: 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 24 Fr
• Stoma lengths (cm): 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.5, 1.7, 2.0, 2.3, 2.5, 2.7, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0

Balloon fill volumes (sterile or distilled water only)

• 12 Fr: recommended 3 mL; maximum 5 mL
• 14–24 Fr: recommended 5 mL; maximum 10 mL

• Clear, medical-grade silicone tube
• Device supplied sterile (ethylene oxide sterilization)
• Natural rubber latex-free
• Prescription use (Rx), where applicable
• Not a gastro-jejunal device (no jejunal feeding port)
