Description
The Avanos MIC-KEY Low-Profile Balloon Gastrostomy Button is a skin-level gastrostomy tube designed for long-term enteral nutrition, medication delivery, and gastric decompression in pediatric through adult patients. Its low-profile design helps reduce snagging and visibility, while an internal inflatable balloon provides secure retention.
Design and materials
- Low-profile external base with skin-level profile
- Internal inflatable retention balloon
- Feeding port with anti-reflux valve that remains closed when no extension set is attached
- Medical-grade silicone construction; not made with natural rubber latex; not formulated with DEHP
- Radiopaque stripe for visualization (where provided)
Sterility and use
- Feeding tube: sterile (ethylene oxide); single-use only
- ENFit extension sets: non-sterile; reusable for a single patient only; do not share between patients
Connectors and compatibility
- Use only MIC-KEY extension sets with the MIC-KEY feeding port
- Extension sets feature a SECUR-LOK right-angle patient-end connector designed to interface with and protect the valve, helping reduce leaks and accidental disconnection
- ENFit connectors (ISO 80369-3) on the feeding side; Y-connector includes a dedicated medication port; integrated tubing clamp
- Extension sets are compatible with MIC-KEY low-profile G, J, and GJ feeding tubes

Handling and connection notes
