Description
The Avanos MIC-KEY Low-Profile Balloon Gastrostomy Button (ENFit configuration) is a skin-level device that provides gastric access for long-term enteral feeding, medication delivery, and decompression/venting. It features a low-profile, button-style design with an internal inflatable retention balloon and is intended for patients who cannot tolerate oral intake or who require direct gastric access. Initial placement can be performed percutaneously under fluoroscopic, laparoscopic, or endoscopic guidance, and the device can also serve as a replacement tube via an established stoma tract.
Key Features
- Low-profile button with internal retention balloon for secure gastric placement
- Feeding port with an anti-reflux valve; opens with the extension set and helps limit leakage when disconnected; cap when not in use
- High-clarity, medical‑grade silicone construction
- ENFit small-bore enteral connectivity (ISO 80369‑3) via MIC-KEY ENFit extension sets
- Patient-end SECUR‑LOK right‑angle connector on extension sets; compatible only with MIC-KEY feeding ports
- Not made with natural rubber latex; extension sets are DEHP-free

- Typical lengths: 12 in (≈30.5 cm); some continuous-feed sets also offered in 24 in (≈60.9 cm)
- Features: ENFit connectors; right‑angle patient end; 2‑port Y with a dedicated medication port on applicable sets; tubing clamp on continuous-feed sets
- A 35 mL ENFit syringe is used to prime/flush extension sets and for placement checks
Kit Contents (may vary by region)
- MIC-KEY Low-Profile G‑tube (ENFit configuration)
- ENFit extension sets: Continuous Feed 12 in and Bolus Feed 12 in (both with SECUR‑LOK right‑angle patient-end)
- 6 mL Luer slip syringe (balloon inflation/deflation)
- 35 mL ENFit enteral syringe; gauze pad; select regions may include an insertion stylet and water‑soluble lubricant
Use and Handling Highlights
- Verify placement via the extension set by aspirating gastric contents and confirming pH ≤ 5.5 per clinical guidance
- Check balloon volume regularly according to tube size and IFU; stabilize the button during inflation/deflation
- Use sterile or distilled water for balloon inflation
- Use only water‑soluble lubricant on the stem when indicated by the IFU
- Replace extension sets periodically per IFU/local protocol; keep the feeding port capped when not in use
Configuration Note
This MIC-KEY variant is the ENFit configuration and is supplied with ENFit extension set(s); non‑ENFit versions are available separately within the MIC-KEY family.
