Description
The Avanos MIC-KEY Low-Profile Balloon Gastrostomy (G) Button is a skin-level feeding access device for long-term enteral nutrition, medication administration, and gastric decompression in pediatric and adult patients. It is used with dedicated MIC-KEY ENFit extension sets that attach to the button to deliver bolus or continuous feeds, medications, and to vent when required.
Key Features and Materials
- Low-profile, skin-level “button” design for comfort and discretion.
- Internal inflatable retention balloon helps secure placement.
- Feeding port includes an internal anti-reflux valve that stays closed when not connected and opens with a MIC-KEY extension set.
- High-clarity, medical-grade silicone; natural rubber latex–free; sterile, single-patient device.
- Radiopaque stripe for visualization.
Connections and Compatibility
- Patient-side interface accepts MIC-KEY extension sets only (SECUR-LOK lock-and-key style); align indicator marks and twist clockwise to lock.
- Extension sets provide ENFit connections compliant with ISO 80369-3 to support enteral-only compatibility and reduce wrong-route misconnections.
Sizes and Balloon Inflation
- French sizes: 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 24 Fr; stoma (shaft) lengths commonly available from 0.8 to 5.0 cm.
- Balloon inflation (sterile or distilled water only): 12 Fr recommended 3 mL (max 5 mL); 14–24 Fr recommended 5 mL (max 10 mL).
MIC-KEY ENFit Extension Sets
