Description
The Avanos MIC-KEY Low-Profile Balloon Gastrostomy Button (G-Tube) provides skin-level, long-term enteral access to the stomach in a discreet, low-profile form.
Indications and use
- For patients requiring long-term enteral feeding who cannot tolerate oral intake
- Suitable for patients at low risk for aspiration
- For gastric decompression and/or direct medication delivery into the stomach
Placement
- Percutaneous placement under fluoroscopic, laparoscopic, or endoscopic guidance
- May be used as a replacement device through an established stoma tract
Design and key features
- Low-profile “button” design to minimize snagging and clothing interference
- Internal inflatable retention balloon
- Feeding port with anti-reflux valve that remains closed when no extension set is attached
- High-clarity, medical-grade silicone with recessed distal tip and radiopaque stripe
- Use only MIC-KEY extension sets with the MIC-KEY feeding port
- Prescription use (Rx only)

- SECUR-LOK right-angle patient-end connector designed to help reduce leaks, protect the valve, and limit unintentional disconnects
- Y-connector on continuous/bolus extension sets includes a dedicated medication port

Balloon inflation guidelines (sterile/distilled water)
- 12 Fr: recommended 3 mL; maximum 5 mL
- 14–24 Fr: recommended 5 mL; maximum 10 mL
Sterility and materials
- Feeding tube: sterile (ethylene oxide), single-use
- Extension sets: non-sterile; reusable for single-patient use
- Natural rubber latex-free; extension sets are DEHP-free
