Description

The Avanos MIC-KEY Low-Profile Balloon Gastrostomy Button is a skin-level, balloon-retained G-tube intended for enteral feeding, medication administration, and gastric decompression in pediatric and adult patients. It is supplied with ENFit extension sets for enteral-only connectivity.

Intended use and placement

• Placement options include percutaneous insertion under fluoroscopic, laparoscopic, or endoscopic guidance, or as a replacement through an established stoma.
• For gastric access only; no jejunal port.

Construction and materials

• High-clarity, medical-grade silicone.
• Ethylene oxide sterilized (device).
• Not made with natural rubber latex; not made with DEHP.
• MR Conditional.

Design and key features

• Low-profile, skin-level design to help minimize snagging and clothing interference.
• Internal inflatable retention balloon.
• Feeding port with anti-reflux valve that remains closed when no extension set is attached.
• External retention ring/base and recessed distal tip.
• Radiopaque stripe for visualization during imaging.

Connectors and compatibility

• Interfaces with MIC-KEY ENFit extension sets only, supporting enteral-only connections.
• Patient-end connector: SECUR-LOK right-angle attachment to help reduce leaks and accidental disconnects and to protect the valve.
• Continuous-feed extension set includes a Y-connector with ENFit ports, a dedicated medication port, and an integrated tubing clamp.

Sizes and stoma lengths

• French sizes: 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 24 Fr.
• Stoma lengths (cm): 0.8; 1.0; 1.2; 1.5; 1.7; 2.0; 2.3; 2.5; 2.7; 3.0; 3.5; 4.0; 4.5; 5.0.

Balloon inflation (water only)

• Use sterile or distilled water; do not use air or saline.
• 12 Fr: recommended 3 mL; maximum 5 mL.
• 14–24 Fr: recommended 5 mL; maximum 10 mL.

Kit contents (ENFit configuration)

• MIC-KEY Low-Profile Gastrostomy Feeding Tube.
• ENFit extension sets: 12-inch continuous-feed (Y-connector with medication port) and 12-inch bolus-feed.
• 6 mL luer slip syringe (balloon inflation/deflation).
• 35 mL ENFit enteral syringe.
• Gauze pad.
• Insertion stylet (US only).
• Water-soluble lubricant (US only).
• Note: stoma measuring device not included.

Sterility and reuse

• G-tube: sterile, single-use; do not reuse, reprocess, or resterilize; do not use if package is damaged.
• Extension sets: non-sterile; reusable for a single patient only; latex-free; DEHP-free.

Compatibility notes

• Use only MIC-KEY extension sets with the MIC-KEY feeding port.
• ENFit connectors help prevent misconnections.
• Older non-ENFit or catheter-tip variants do not apply to this configuration.
