Overview

The Avanos MIC-KEY Low-Profile Balloon Gastrostomy Button (20 Fr) is a skin-level, balloon-retained gastrostomy device for enteral feeding, medication delivery, and gastric decompression in pediatric and adult patients. Its low-profile external base helps reduce snagging and interference with clothing while providing a discreet, stable interface for daily care.

Connectors and compatibility

• Patient-end uses the MIC-KEY lock-and-key/SECUR-LOK interface; tube connects only to MIC-KEY extension sets to help reduce leaks, protect the valve, and minimize accidental disconnects
• ENFit connectors on the feeding side of the extension sets for syringes and feeding sets
• Use only MIC-KEY extension sets with the MIC-KEY feeding port

• 6 mL luer slip syringe (for balloon inflation/deflation)
• 35 mL ENFit enteral syringe
• Gauze pad
• Insertion stylet (US only)
• Water-soluble lubricant (US only)
• Stoma measuring device not included

Balloon inflation guidance

• Inflate with sterile or distilled water only; do not use saline, oil, air, or tap water
• 20 Fr: recommended 5 mL; maximum 10 mL
• General reference: 12 Fr recommended 3 mL (max 5 mL); 14–24 Fr recommended 5 mL (max 10 mL)

Safety and handling
