Intended use

MIC-KEY Low-Profile Balloon Gastrostomy (G) Button/Feeding Tube Kit with ENFit Extension Sets by Avanos is a skin-level, balloon-retained device for long-term enteral access in pediatric and adult patients who cannot tolerate oral feeding and are at low risk for aspiration. It supports gastric decompression/venting and direct medication delivery into the stomach.

Placement and replacement

• Percutaneous placement under fluoroscopic, laparoscopic, or endoscopic guidance
• May be used as a replacement device through an established stoma tract

Design and materials

• Low-profile “button” sits at skin level to help minimize snagging and interference
• Internal inflatable retention balloon
• Feeding port with anti-reflux valve; remains closed when no extension set is attached
• SECUR-LOK right-angle patient-end interface for MIC-KEY extension sets to help reduce leaks and accidental disconnects
• High-clarity, medical-grade silicone; sterile; natural rubber latex-free
• Recessed distal tip and radiopaque stripe for visualization

Connections and variants

• Two connector variants:
• ENFit: uses detachable MIC-KEY ENFit extension sets; continuous-feed Y-extension includes a medication port
• Non-ENFit (catheter tip): catheter-tip connection; no dedicated medication port
• Use only MIC-KEY extension sets with the MIC-KEY feeding port

• French sizes (OD): 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 24 Fr
• Stoma lengths (cm): 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.5, 1.7, 2.0, 2.3, 2.5, 2.7, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0
• Balloon inflation (sterile or distilled water):
• 12 Fr: recommended 3 mL; maximum 5 mL
• 14–24 Fr: recommended 5 mL; maximum 10 mL

Compatibility and accessories

• Compatible with MIC-KEY ENFit extension sets (continuous-feed right-angle/Y and bolus) available in multiple lengths; extension sets are non-sterile, reusable for a single patient, and latex-free/DEHP-free
• Over-the-wire stoma measuring device available separately to determine appropriate shaft length

Clinical notes

• The anti-reflux valve is opened by the MIC-KEY SECUR-LOK connector; keep the feeding port capped when not in use
