Description
The Avanos MIC-KEY Bolus Extension Set (Catheter Tip, Straight) is an enteral extension designed for bolus or syringe feeding, venting, and medication/flush administration. It attaches to MIC-KEY Low-Profile Gastrostomy (G), Jejunal (J), and Gastro-Jejunal (GJ) feeding tubes and can be detached when not in use to maintain a low profile.
Compatibility and connections
- MIC-KEY feeding-port interface: SECUR-LOK straight connector with safety ring that opens the tube’s anti-reflux valve, helping reduce leakage and assisting in the prevention of IV misconnections.
- Patient end: catheter-tip syringe interface. Non-ENFit; not compatible with ENFit syringes/connectors.
- No in-line medication port.
Design features
- Swivel, low-profile connection allows movement during use.
- Integrated tubing clamp for on/off flow control.
- Available lengths: approximately 30 cm (12 in) and 60 cm (24 in).
- Materials: DEHP-free and contains no natural rubber latex.
- Non-sterile; reusable for a single patient.
Use and care
- Flush the extension before and after use.
- After each use, wash in warm, soapy water; rinse thoroughly; air-dry completely. Store clean and dry.
- Typical replacement interval is about every two weeks or as directed by clinical guidance.
- For prescription use (Rx only).
