Description
The Avanos MIC ENFit Gastrojejunal (GJ) Feeding Tube is a balloon‑retained, standard‑length, transgastric‑jejunal device with double lumens designed to support simultaneous jejunal feeding and gastric decompression/drainage in pediatric and adult patients who cannot adequately absorb via the stomach (e.g., intestinal dysmotility, gastric outlet obstruction, severe reflux/aspiration risk, post‑esophagectomy/gastrectomy). The jejunal port may also be used for medication delivery when clinically appropriate.
Key Features and Design
- Double‑lumen configuration with separate channels for gastric drainage and jejunal feeding
- Male ENFit connectors on both gastric and jejunal ports; clearly labeled; no separate medication port
- Internal silicone retention balloon; typical fill volume 7–10 mL (size‑dependent)
- SECUR‑LOK external retention ring for secure external fixation and stoma length adjustment
- Tapered distal tip with multiple jejunal exit ports to support distal delivery
- Radiopaque construction for imaging: tungsten‑weighted jejunal segment and barium‑sulfate radiopaque stripe on gastric segment
- Soft, medical‑grade silicone composition; not made with natural rubber latex, DEHP, DBP, or BBP
- Sterile, single‑use device; do not re‑use, re‑process, or re‑sterilize
Placement and Measurement
- Suitable for initial endoscopic or fluoroscopic placement and for replacement in an established stoma tract
- Jejunal length is measured from the distal aspect of the retention balloon to the catheter tip
- Radiopaque features assist with visualization during placement and verification
