Description
Overview
The Avanos MIC ENFit Gastrojejunal (GJ) Feeding Tube is a balloon‑retained, double‑lumen device for transgastric access that enables simultaneous gastric decompression/drainage and jejunal delivery of nutrition and medications. It is intended for endoscopic or fluoroscopic placement and is suitable for initial placement or replacement in an established stoma tract. Prescription device (Rx only).
Intended Use and Clinical Scenarios
- Inadequate gastric absorption (e.g., intestinal dysmotility)
- Gastric outlet obstruction
- Severe gastroesophageal reflux or aspiration risk
- Post‑esophagectomy or gastrectomy
Design and Materials
- Double‑lumen construction with separate gastric drainage and jejunal feeding channels
- ENFit connectors on gastric and jejunal ports; no separate medication port
- Internal silicone retention balloon; typical fill volume 7–10 mL (size‑dependent)
- SECUR‑LOK external retention ring for external stabilization
- Tapered distal tip with multiple exit ports on gastric and jejunal segments
- Radiopaque design: tungsten‑weighted jejunal segment; barium‑sulfate stripe on gastric segment for imaging visibility
- Medical‑grade silicone; not made with natural rubber latex, DEHP, DBP, or BBP
Placement and Measurement
- Appropriate for endoscopic or fluoroscopic placement and for replacement in a mature tract
- Jejunal length is measured from the distal aspect of the retention balloon to the catheter tip
