The Avanos MIC Balloon Gastrostomy Feeding Tube with ENFit Y-Connector is a balloon-retained, standard-length G-tube that provides long-term gastric access for pediatric and adult patients who are unable to tolerate oral intake and are at low risk for aspiration. It is intended for enteral nutrition, medication delivery, and gastric decompression/venting. This device is a gastrostomy tube (not a gastro-jejunal tube).
Intended use and placement
- Supports feeding, medication administration, and gastric decompression/venting.
- Placement options include surgical or percutaneous (fluoroscopic or endoscopic) techniques.
- May be used as a replacement device through a mature stoma and is compatible with PEG tracts.
Ports and connectivity
- ENFit Y-connector compliant with ISO 80369-3.
- Two gastric ports: separate feeding and medication/flush access, plus a dedicated balloon inflation port.
- No jejunal port.
- Separate gastric ports can streamline feeding and medication/flush workflows.
Materials and design features
- Medical-grade silicone tube for flexibility and biocompatibility.
- Internal inflatable silicone retention balloon for intragastric securement.
- SECUR-LOK adjustable external retention ring helps maintain appropriate external length and device position; allows bedside adjustment per protocol.
- Radiopaque stripe for visualization under X-ray/fluoroscopy.
- Distal tip: 12 Fr has a tapered tip; 14–30 Fr feature a recessed distal tip.
Sizes and balloon management
- Available French sizes: 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30 Fr.
- Balloon fill volume is size-dependent; fill with sterile or distilled water only.
- Follow device labeling/Instructions for Use for inflation volumes; maximum volume is marked on the inflation port.
