## Description
Nutricia Elemental 028 Extra Liquid is a Food for Special Medical Purposes (FSMP): a nutritionally complete, ready-to-drink elemental formula based on free amino acids. It is designed for the dietary management of severe gastrointestinal impairment and is intended for oral or enteral use. The formula features a high-MCT fat profile and provides carbohydrate, fats, essential and non‑essential amino acids, vitamins, minerals and trace elements.
### Indications for Use (dietary management)
- Crohn’s disease, short bowel syndrome, intractable malabsorption, bowel/enterocutaneous fistulae, radiation enteritis.
- Situations where an elemental diet is indicated, including eosinophilic oesophagitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and for patients with multiple food allergies requiring enteral feeding.
### Suitability and Important Notices
- May be used from 1 year of age as a supplement.
- Suitable as a sole source of nutrition from 5 years of age and for adults.
- Not suitable for infants under 1 year.
- For enteral/oral use only; not for parenteral use.
- Must be used under medical supervision.
