The Kangaroo™ ePump by Cardinal Health is an advanced enteral feeding solution designed to manage nutrition and hydration for patients who cannot obtain nutrition orally. This programmable device offers both feeding and flushing functions, making it a versatile tool in clinical and home care settings.

Feeding Modes

The ePump supports two primary feeding modes:

• Continuous Feeding: With a programmable feed rate ranging from 1 to 400 mL/hour, and a flush volume between 10 to 500 mL, it allows for precise control over nutrition delivery. The flush interval can be set from 1 to 24 hours, with an optional total volume to be delivered (VTBD).
• Intermittent (Bolus) Feeding: Offers flexibility with up to 99 boluses, each with a programmable rate of 1 to 400 mL/hour. The volume per bolus can range from 1 to 1000 mL, with intervals set between 1 to 24 hours.

Flushing Capabilities

The device supports both automatic and manual priming of the feeding set. The "Flush Now" function enables on-demand flushing without altering main settings, ensuring seamless operation even when the feeding bag is refilled.

User Interface

Featuring an ATM-style interface, the ePump provides on-screen prompts and arrow buttons for intuitive programming. Users can adjust settings during operation and access up to 72 hours of feeding history, enhancing usability and monitoring.

Safety Features

Equipped with multiple alarms for conditions such as empty bags, blockages, low battery, and incorrect setup, the ePump ensures safe operation. Its anti-free-flow system prevents unintentional flow of formula or liquid, while features like VTBD require careful setup.

Special Functions

• "Resume In": Allows pausing of feeding for a pre-set time.
• "Keep Tube Open" (KTO): Maintains tube patency by delivering small nutrition amounts at low rates.
• "Hold" Function: Enables temporary pausing of feeds.

Compatibility with ENFit connectors reduces misconnection risks, further enhancing safety.

Power and Portability

The ePump's rechargeable battery offers approximately 16 hours of operation at 125 mL/hr. Its compact and lightweight design ensures easy portability, making it suitable for various care environments.

Feeding Set Compatibility

Compatible with Kangaroo™ ePump Feeding Sets, the device works with ready-to-hang bottles, decanter bags, and three-in-one adapters. The feeding set includes features like an anti-free-flow valve and silicone peristaltic tubing for reliable performance.

Setup and Maintenance

Proper setup requires positioning the feeding bag 18 inches above the pump. The device can be cleaned using an ENFit brush, with user guides available for different configurations.
