Description

Infatrini (Nutricia) is a nutritionally complete, high‑energy (1 kcal/mL) ready‑to‑use liquid Food for Special Medical Purposes for infants. For enteral use only, it is designed for the dietary management of infants from birth to 18 months or up to 9 kg with faltering growth, increased energy requirements and/or fluid restriction. Within these limits, it can be used as a sole source of nutrition.

Indications and use conditions

• Use only under medical supervision after consideration of all feeding options, including breastfeeding.
• Enteral use only; not for parenteral use.
• Suitable as a sole source of nutrition within the specified age/weight limits.

Format and administration

• 125 mL UHT‑sterilised, unflavoured, ready‑to‑use bottle.
• May be given orally by teat/cup or via enteral tube; compatible with Flocare Universal Feeding Sets.

Preparation and handling

• Shake well. Use at room temperature or warm by placing the unopened bottle in warm water; do not microwave.
• Pour into a sterilised bottle, beaker or tube‑feed container; check temperature before feeding.
• For tube feeding, maximum hanging time is 4 hours.
• Discard any unfinished feeds.
• After opening, close and refrigerate immediately; use within 12 hours.

Composition and features

• Whey‑dominant protein with prebiotic fibres (GOS/FOS).
• Contains long‑chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (includes DHA and EPA) and a proportion of MCTs.
• Ingredients include cow’s milk components, maltodextrin, vegetable oils (rapeseed, sunflower, coconut), single‑cell oil, refined tuna fish oil, vitamins and minerals; emulsifiers (mono‑ and diglycerides; soy lecithin); acidity regulator.

Safety, contraindications and allergens

• Not suitable for patients with galactosaemia.
• Contains cow’s milk and lactose; not suitable for infants with cow’s milk protein allergy or lactose intolerance.
• Allergens: milk (including lactose), soy (lecithin), fish (tuna oil).
• Halal certified; Kosher approval available in some markets.
