Description
The HOYA Vivinex™ Toric Intraocular Lens (IOL), Model XY1AT3, is a specialized lens designed for use in cataract surgery. Crafted from glistening-free hydrophobic acrylic, this lens features both UV and blue light filters, providing enhanced visual protection.
Optic Design
- Biconvex Shape: The lens incorporates a proprietary aspheric anterior surface, improving image quality and partially compensating for corneal spherical aberration.
- Posterior Toric Design: This design, along with a square, thin, and textured optic edge, helps reduce posterior capsule opacification (PCO) through active oxygen processing and a smooth surface.
Haptic Design
The lens includes a textured-rough haptic surface, contributing to its outstanding rotational stability. Clinical studies highlight a median rotation of just 1.1°, with over 96% of lenses demonstrating a rotation of ≤5° up to six months post-operation.
Dimensions and Power Range
- Optic Diameter: 6.00 mm
- Overall Length: 13.00 mm
- Spherical Power: Ranges from +10.00 to +30.00 diopters in 0.50 D increments.
- Cylinder Power at IOL Plane: From T2 (1.00 D) to T9 (6.00 D), with specific increments for precise correction.
Injector System
Preloaded in the Vivinex™ iSert® or multiSert™ injector system, the lens allows for a recommended incision size of 2.20 mm. The system supports both single-handed and two-handed injection, with an adjustable insert shield for depth management.
Calculation Tools
The HOYA Toric Calculator, along with the Abulafia-Koch Regression formula, aids in precise cylinder power calculation and estimation of posterior corneal astigmatism.
Clinical Benefits
This IOL is designed to correct astigmatism during cataract surgery, offering a low incidence of posterior capsule opacification. Clinical studies indicate significantly lower PCO scores and Nd:YAG capsulotomy rates compared to other IOLs. Intended for use by healthcare professionals, the HOYA Vivinex™ Toric IOL provides reliable performance and enhanced visual outcomes.
