Description
Introducing the HA TECH RAT, a versatile and reliable rapid antigen test kit designed by HA Tech. These Australian-made kits are crafted for the qualitative detection of several viral antigens, including SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), Influenza A, Influenza B, and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). With their user-friendly design, they are suitable for self-testing at home or use in clinical, workplace, and educational settings.
Key Features
- Fast Results: Obtain results within 10 to 20 minutes, allowing for quick decision-making.
- Sample Collection: Primarily uses nasal swabs, with some kits offering throat swab options for influenza detection.
- Immunochromatography Technology: Ensures accurate and clear results through a qualitative chromatographic immunoassay.
Result Interpretation
The test results are easy to interpret with the appearance of colored lines or bands:
- Two colored bands (T and C) indicate a positive result.
- One band at C indicates a negative result.
- No band at C signifies an invalid result.
Performance
- Sensitivity and Specificity: High sensitivity (up to 97.95%) and specificity (up to 100%) for SARS-CoV-2, with performance unaffected by major variants like Delta and Omicron.
- Regulatory Approval: TGA listed and registered on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG 399559).
Storage and Handling
- Store between 2-30°C, away from sunlight, moisture, and heat.
- Use the test cartridge within 1 hour of opening to ensure accuracy.
Kit Components
Each kit includes:
- Test cartridge(s)
- Sample extraction tube(s) with solution
- Sterile swab stick(s)
- Instructions for use
- Tube stand (in some kits)
Available Formats
The kits are available in single test, 5-test, and 20-test packs, with various models such as:
- SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test Kit (RAT-01)
- SARS-CoV-2 & Influenza A/B Combo Rapid Antigen Test Kit (RAT-03)
- Respiratory Combo Panel RSV/SARS-CoV-2/Influenza A/B Rapid Antigen Test Kit (RAT-19)
Usage Guidelines
- Intended for individuals with symptoms of respiratory infection.
- Not suitable for children under 4 years old (combo panel).
- Negative results are presumptive; confirm with PCR if necessary.
- Follow positive results with appropriate isolation and reporting.
Limitations
- Less sensitive than PCR tests, particularly in early infection stages.
- Not intended for asymptomatic screening or use beyond 7 days of symptom onset.
The HA TECH RAT kits provide a comprehensive solution for rapid antigen testing, offering peace of mind with their accuracy and ease of use.
