The CLEO 90 Infusion Set by Smiths Medical is a specialized, single-use device designed to enhance the convenience and safety of subcutaneous infusion therapies, including insulin delivery. The all-in-one, preassembled housing serves both as an inserter and a needle retractor, ensuring a seamless and discreet application.

• Automatic Needle Retraction: The introducer needle retracts automatically post-insertion, minimizing the risk of accidental needlestick injuries. This feature ensures that the user never needs to see or handle the needle, enhancing safety and comfort.

• One-Handed Insertion: With a simple press until a click is heard, the device can be inserted effortlessly using one hand. This intuitive design streamlines the process, requiring only a firm press, a brief hold, and a straightforward removal.

• Adhesive Dressing: The set includes a small, transparent, hypoallergenic adhesive patch that secures the device with minimal additional tape. Its proprietary release tab allows for easy removal, maintaining a secure fit throughout use.

• 360° Tubing Connection: The Flex Attach™ 360° site tubing connection offers eight possible tubing positions, allowing full rotation for enhanced flexibility. This feature, along with the standard luer lock connection, ensures compatibility with various infusion pumps, including the Sequel Twiist insulin pump.

• Cannula Options: Available with soft, flexible cannulas in 6 mm and 9 mm lengths, both featuring a 90-degree insertion angle.

• Tubing Lengths: Offered in 24" (61 cm), 31" (79 cm), and 42" (107 cm) lengths.

• Gauge: The introducer needle is 28G, and the cannula is 25G.

• Sterile Packaging: Each set is supplied sterile in cases of 10 units, emphasizing single-use to maintain hygiene.

Instructions for Use

1. Insertion: Remove the cap, insert the cannula with a firm press until a click is heard, hold for 5 seconds, then remove. The needle retracts automatically.
2. Securing: Press the adhesive to secure the set.
3. Connection: Connect and fill the tubing as per the pump user manual. Pinch and slide open the site connector arms to attach tubing, ensuring closure with an audible click.
4. Priming: Prime the cannula with medication, noting the specific priming volumes for each cannula length.
5. Disconnection: To disconnect, pinch and slide open the connector, and remove the site by peeling off the adhesive.
