Description

Chlorsig Eye Ointment is a specialized ophthalmic treatment formulated by Aspen Pharmacare Australia Pty Ltd. It contains 1% chloramphenicol, a broad-spectrum antibiotic, designed to combat bacterial conjunctivitis and other superficial ocular infections. This ointment is intended for use in adults and children aged two years and older, under medical supervision.

Formulation

Application Instructions

• Apply approximately 1.5 cm of ointment into the affected eye(s) every three hours.

Steps for Application

1. Wash hands thoroughly.
2. Tilt head back and gently pull down the lower eyelid.
3. Squeeze the ointment inside the lower eyelid, avoiding contact between the tube tip and the eye.
4. Close eyes gently for 1–2 minutes post-application.

Temporary blurred vision may occur after use, so caution is advised.

Precautions

• Not recommended for individuals allergic to chloramphenicol or any listed ingredients.
• Avoid use if there's a history of blood disorders or specific eye conditions like glaucoma.
• Ensure packaging integrity and check expiry date before use.
• Contact lenses should not be worn during treatment and for 24 hours post-treatment.

Storage

• Store below 25°C, away from light.
• Keep in a cool, dry place.
• Discard four weeks after opening.
