Description
Biatain Fiber with HexaLock Technology is an advanced wound care solution designed to effectively manage highly exuding, sloughy, and cavity wounds. This soft, sterile, absorbent gelling fiber dressing is crafted from non-woven sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) fibers, enhanced with bicomponent (BiCo) fibers, and reinforced with a thermobonded hexagon net for added strength.
Key Features
- HexaLock Technology: Provides exceptional strength and structure, minimizing the risks of maceration, infection, and exudate pooling by effectively managing wound exudate.
- Gelling Action: Upon contact with exudate, the dressing forms a cohesive gel, maintaining a moist wound healing environment and allowing for easy one-piece removal with minimal residue.
- Minimal Shrinkage: Retains its shape to prevent gap creation and further exudate pooling.
Intended Use
Biatain Fiber is designed to serve as a primary dressing, often complemented by a secondary dressing for additional absorption. It is suitable for a wide range of acute and chronic wounds, including:
- Diabetic ulcers
- Leg ulcers (arterial, venous, mixed aetiology)
- Pressure ulcers (stage II–IV)
- Oncology wounds
- Traumatic wounds
- Partial-thickness burns
- Donor sites
- Post-operative surgical wounds
Benefits
- Supports Healing: Aids in autolytic debridement and desloughing, promoting effective wound healing.
- Exudate Retention: Prevents leakage back into the wound or onto the periwound skin.
- Ease of Use: Easy to apply and remove, even under compression.
Available Sizes
- Square sizes: 5x5 cm, 10x10 cm, 15x15 cm, 19x25 cm
- Ribbon size: 2.5x46 cm
Usage Guidelines
- Recommended to be used under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
- Can remain in place for up to seven days or until maximum absorption capacity is reached.
- Requires a secondary dressing, such as Biatain Silicone, for additional absorption and protection.
Recognition
Biatain Fiber has been awarded the Red Dot "Product Design 2020: Innovative Product" award, highlighting its innovative design and performance in wound care management.
