Description
The Avanos (BALLARD) Closed Suction System with Double Swivel Elbow is a sterile, in-line catheter system designed for endotracheal or tracheostomy suctioning without disconnecting the ventilator circuit. This helps maintain ventilation and PEEP while limiting circuit exposure and contamination risk. The Double Swivel Elbow provides dual pivot points to improve circuit flexibility during patient movement and repositioning, helping reduce torque at the airway with fewer separate connectors.
Key features
- Protective sheath fully encloses the catheter to help limit environmental exposure.
- Thumb valve/control enables on-demand suction activation with one-handed operation.
- Numbered catheter markings assist with consistent insertion depth.
- Available in Dry and WET PAK configurations; WET PAK includes aseptically filled saline vials for in-line irrigation.
- Optional integrated MDI port available on select endotracheal models.
- Optional TURBO Cleaning technology: vacuum‑sealed turbulent cleaning chamber retracts and cleans the catheter tip; manufacturer reports approximately 89% cleaner tips versus standard closed suction designs.
- Configurations for both endotracheal and tracheostomy applications.
- Double Swivel Elbow connector (dual swivels) for added circuit mobility with fewer connectors.
