Description
The 25D LARGE LENS by Volk Optical is a specialized tool designed for professionals in the eye care industry. This non-contact, indirect BIO lens is crafted for comprehensive ophthalmic examinations, focusing on the retina and mid-peripheral areas. Its advanced optical design makes it an essential instrument for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Optical Excellence
- Double Aspheric Glass Optics: Ensures enhanced imaging quality.
- Laserlight® HD Coating: Available on some models to minimize reflections and improve image clarity.
The lens offers a field of view of 52° (static) and 68° (dynamic), surpassing standard 20D lenses. This wide view extends from the central to mid-peripheral retina, providing thorough examination capabilities.
Magnification and Design
- Image Magnification: 2.54x
- Laser Spot Magnification: 0.39x
These features are complemented by a working distance of 38 mm, a clear aperture of 48 mm, and a lightweight design at 59 g. The smaller ring diameter is particularly beneficial for users with petite fingers or those preferring a compact profile.
Versatile Color Options
Available in a variety of colors including Blue, Gold, Green, Purple, Red, Silver, and Pink. Note that repeated sterilization may cause the ring color to fade to natural aluminum, a purely cosmetic change.
Intended Use
Ideal for:
- Retinal and posterior pole examination
- Glaucoma screening
- Detection of retinal tears and hemorrhages
Suitable for both pediatric and adult patients, making it a versatile tool in any ophthalmic setting.
Maintenance and Care

- Use a mild, pH-neutral detergent with a clean cotton cloth.
- Rinse with sterile, distilled, or deionized water.
- Dry with an ultra-soft, low-lint cloth.

Additional Features
Each lens comes with a complimentary case and offers custom engraving options. This lens is intended solely for trained professionals and should not be used if damaged. The cosmetic fading of the ring color does not impact its functionality, ensuring long-term reliability in clinical settings.
