Description
The 14Fr 1.0cm MIC-KEY Low Profile Jejunal Tube is a specialized medical device designed to support patients requiring long-term enteral feeding and gastric decompression. Suitable for both pediatric and adult patients, this tube provides direct access to the jejunum, facilitating the administration of nutrients, liquids, and medications directly into the small intestine. It also allows for effective gastric decompression, making it ideal for patients with conditions such as severe gastroesophageal reflux, gastric outlet obstruction, or those with a history of esophagectomy or gastrectomy.
Design and Features
Crafted with a low-profile "button" design, the tube offers discretion and comfort, easily concealable under clothing. It is securely held in place by an internal inflatable balloon and an external retention bolster, ensuring stability. The device includes multiple external ports:
- Jejunal Port: For feeding into the small intestine.
- Gastric Port: For drainage, venting, or additional feeding.
- Balloon Port: For managing the retention balloon.
Each port is equipped with a one-way valve, activated by attaching a MIC-KEY extension set, enhancing safety and functionality.
Visibility and Compatibility
The tube features a radiopaque stripe for clear visualization under imaging, a weighted jejunal portion, and a tapered distal tip. It is made from medical-grade silicone and includes ENFit connectors, aligning with current enteral feeding standards. Detachable extension sets are included, designed for use with ENFit™ syringes and extension sets.
